Where is Encore Coffee & Chocolate located?

Can I visit Encore Coffee & Chocolate’s roasting facility?

While we don’t offer tours of our facility due to health and safety regulations, our retail counter is open during posted hours for shopping and order pickups. For wholesale or business inquiries, feel free to call us at 816-701-9150 or email info@encorecoffeeco.com to schedule a meeting.

Do you have a café or serve drinks?

No, we’re not a full-service coffee shop. Our focus is on roasting coffee, crafting chocolate, and offering both directly to customers through our online store, retail counter, and select partners.

Do you wholesale your coffee and chocolate?

Yes! We work with coffee shops, specialty grocers, and gift retailers. Visit our Wholesale section (link below) or email info@encorecoffeeco.com to get started.

📦 Ordering, Shipping & Pickup

When will my coffee be roasted and shipped?

We roast fresh every Tuesday. Orders placed by midnight (Central Time) on Monday will be roasted the next day and shipped by Wednesday. Delivery typically takes 2–5 business days, depending on your location and the shipping method you choose at checkout.

How much is shipping?

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your order’s weight, destination, and carrier. We offer both USPS and UPS options and always aim to keep rates as low as possible.

Can I pick up my order in person?

Yes! Just select “Local Pickup” at checkout. Orders placed by Monday at midnight (CT) will be ready for pickup that Thursday or Friday between 12–5 PM at our Grandview facility. We’ll send you an email notification as soon as your order is ready.

Do you offer international shipping?

We don’t currently offer international shipping, but we’re actively exploring options to make it available in the future. Stay tuned!

Will I receive tracking information for my order?

Yes! As soon as we prepare your shipping label, you’ll receive an email with tracking details. Please note that it may take up to 24-48 hours for the carrier’s system to update with movement and delivery estimates.

What shipping carriers do you use?

We currently offer USPS and UPS shipping options. You can choose the method that works best for your needs at checkout.

Can I change my shipping address after placing an order?

If your order hasn’t shipped yet, email us at info@encorecoffeeco.com as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to update the address before it goes out.

What if my order is delayed or lost?

Carrier delays can occasionally happen, especially during peak seasons. If your tracking hasn’t updated in several days or your package appears lost, contact us and we’ll help resolve the issue.

Can I combine multiple orders into one shipment?

We’re happy to combine shipments if possible. Just email us at info@encorecoffeeco.com with your order numbers and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

☕ Coffee Questions

Can I order ground coffee?

Yes! We offer three options: Whole Bean, Ground Medium (best for drip machines), and Ground Coarse (ideal for French press). For peak freshness and flavor, we recommend choosing whole bean and grinding just before brewing.

How should I store my Encore Coffee to keep it fresh?

To keep your coffee beans fresh and flavorful, store them in an airtight container at room temperature, away from light, heat, and moisture. The best way to store coffee is in a dedicated coffee canister like an Airscape® or a vacuum-sealed container designed to preserve freshness. Avoid using the refrigerator or freezer — moisture and fluctuating temperatures can damage the flavor of your coffee. Proper coffee storage helps you enjoy every cup at its best.

How long does coffee stay fresh after roasting?

Coffee tastes best within 2–4 weeks of roasting. While it’s safe to drink beyond that, the flavor and aroma will gradually fade with time.

What is single origin coffee?

Single origin coffee is sourced from one specific region, farm, or co-op — rather than being a blend of beans from multiple locations. This allows you to taste the unique flavor profile of that origin, which can reflect everything from altitude and soil to the local processing method. We feature a rotating selection of single origin coffees to highlight the distinct character of each harvest.

Do you offer organic coffee?

Many of the coffee beans we roast are grown using organic and sustainable farming practices, even if they’re not always USDA-certified. While our facility is not certified organic due to the high cost of maintaining certification, we prioritize ethically sourced, high-quality coffee that’s good for both people and the planet.

Is there caffeine in decaf coffee?

Yes, decaf coffee still contains a small amount of caffeine — typically around 1–3% of the original content. Our decaf coffees are 97–99% caffeine-free, making them a great option for evening enjoyment or for anyone who wants to limit their caffeine intake without sacrificing flavor.

Does dark roast coffee have more caffeine?

It’s a common myth, but dark roast coffee doesn’t have more caffeine than lighter roasts. In fact, light roasts often contain slightly more caffeine by volume because they’re denser. However, the difference is small — so whether you choose light, medium, or dark roast, the caffeine content is relatively similar. The best choice comes down to flavor preference, not caffeine level.

🍫 Chocolate Questions

Is your chocolate bean-to-bar?

Yes! All of our chocolate is crafted from scratch using ethically sourced cacao beans. As a bean-to-bar chocolate maker, we roast, grind, refine, and temper the chocolate in-house at our Grandview, Missouri facility — giving us full control over quality and flavor.

What’s the difference between a chocolate maker and a chocolatier?

A chocolate maker crafts chocolate from the cacao bean — roasting, grinding, and refining raw cacao into finished chocolate. A chocolatier (or confectioner) uses finished chocolate to create treats like truffles, bonbons, or dipped confections. At Encore, we are chocolate makers — we create every bar from ethically sourced cacao, starting with the bean.

Is your chocolate vegan or dairy-free?

Most of our dark chocolate bars are dairy-free and vegan-friendly. Our milk and white chocolates do contain dairy. Always check the ingredients listed on each product page if you have dietary restrictions.

Is your chocolate gluten-free?

Yes — all Encore chocolate bars are gluten-free. However, they are made in a shared facility, so while we follow best practices, we cannot guarantee zero cross-contact for individuals with celiac disease.

How should I store chocolate to keep it fresh?

To keep your chocolate in top condition, store it in a cool, dry place between 60–70°F, away from sunlight and humidity. Do not refrigerate — this can cause sugar bloom and affect texture and flavor.

What ingredients are in your chocolate?

We keep it simple: just cacao, cane sugar, and real ingredients like sea salt, vanilla, or coffee — no additives, emulsifiers, or artificial flavors. You can find the full ingredient list on each product page.
