October features a delicious natural coffee from Rwenzori, Uganda.  This coffee is grown on the Rwenzori Mountain Range, more famously known as the Mountains of the Moon.  This 120km stretch is located in Western Uganda, bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo. The high altitude, fertile soils, and plentiful rainfall provide perfect conditions for growing Arabica coffee.  In addition to coffee, farmers also produce cassava, maize, beans, and groundnuts for local consumption and additional income.  Our Rwenzori coffee was hand-picked and processed at the Kisinga washing station.  The coffee was then dried on raised African beds in polytunnels.
