This coffee is grown at Finca Colomba in the Alotepec-Metapán coffee growing region in El Salvador. This north-central region is a series of hard to access volcanic mountain ranges and grows some of the best coffee in the area. A father and son team who are first generation coffee producers bought the Finca in 2016 and have turned the farm back into its producing glory. Gerardo Jr. is entirely in charge of the farm’s management and processing, his committed vision of producing the best coffee has led him to experiment a great deal with different processing methods (honey, naturals, semi-washed) that have yielded superb results.

The farm is planted with Borbon and Pacamara varieties in defined lots with to plant Geisha and Kona varieties in the future. The first part of the farm was planted over 45 years ago, and the new part of the property within four years, which makes it a very promising farm. They use their own nursery to replant old or damaged trees. And the local school was built on donated land by their family. They are very sensitive to the need for rural education in their community. They also provide workers free land used to grow their food crops mainly corn, beans, and vegetables. They keep part of the farm as pine and oak forest as part of a strategy to diversify income sources.

Where can I find Encore Coffee near me?

Retail bags of Encore Coffee can be found at the three flagship Made in Kansas City stores in addition to purchasing online. As we grow, our retail partners will be listed on our website.

Can I come and visit?

Meetings regarding wholesale or other business opportunities are by appointment only. From time to time we do have open cupping sessions, please watch our Facebook page for details. If you need more info drop us an email at info@encorecoffeeco.com.

How can my café/restaurant/store/church sell your coffee?

We would be glad to discuss your opportunity, please call us at 816-701-9150 or email info@encorecoffeeco.com.

Can I have my coffee ground?

Sure! Simply select the ground size when ordering.

How should I store my coffee?

In an air-tight container – please do not freeze.

How long will coffee stay fresh?

Coffee is best from a few days after the roast up to a month. Coffee can be consumed for several months but the quality of coffee will be diminished. We encourage people to only buy enough coffee to be consumed within 2-4 weeks.

What is single origin coffee?

Single origin coffee is simply a coffee grown within a known geographic origin. We try to source coffee which can be identified down to the farmer and/or processing mill.

How do you source your coffee?

We work together with a number of coffee producers, exporters, and importer partners to source the highest quality coffees at an affordable price.

Are your coffees certified USDA organic?

No. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of USDA organic certification, we have decided not to certify our facility at this point in time. Most of our coffees are source from farmers using organic growing methods.

Is your decaf made with chemicals?

NO. We will only source beans that have been decaffeinated through water immersion technique. “Swiss Water Processed” and “Water Mountain Processed” are the two leading industry standards.

Is there caffeine in decaffeinated coffee?

Yes, but only a small amount; decaf coffees range from between 97% and 99% caffeine free.

Roasting and Shipping Times
When will my coffee be roasted and shipped?

Order placed up to midnight on Tuesday will be roasted on Wednesday and ship no later than Friday. Do you ship internationally?
